Lindsay Marchiano’s mother, Linda Lovelace
Linda Lovelace was an American adult film actress and author with a net worth of $100 thousand at the time of her death in 2002. Linda Lovelace was born Linda Susan Boreman on January 10, 1949, in The Bronx, New York City. Her father, John, was a police officer, and her mother, Dorothy, a waitress, was abusive and domineering.
Lovelace attended Saint John the Baptist in Yonkers and Maria Regina High School in Hartsdale, and as a teenager, she earned the nickname Miss Holy, Holy, because she was committed to avoiding sexual activity and kept boys at a distance.
Linda Lovelace is best known for starring in the hardcore pornography film “Deep Throat” (1972). Linda later revealed that her first husband, Chuck Traynor, forced her to star in the movie, and while testifying before the Attorney General’s Commission on Pornography in 1986, she stated, When you see the movie ‘Deep Throat,’ you are watching me being raped.
It is a crime that the movie is still showing; there was a gun in my head the entire time. After leaving the industry, Lovelace became an anti-pornography activist and a born-again Christian. She also appeared in the films Sextet (1971), Deep Throat Part II (1974), and Linda Lovelace for President (1975), and she published the books Inside Linda Lovelace (1974), The Intimate Diary of Linda Lovelace (1974), Ordeal (1980), and Out of Bondage (1986). Linda passed away on April 22, 2002, from trauma and internal injuries sustained in a car accident at the age of 53.
While staying with her parents during her recovery, Linda met Chuck Traynor, and after he forced her to go to New York with him, he became her husband as well as her manager and pimp.
He coerced her to perform as “Linda Lovelace” in hardcore 8 mm silent short films meant to be shown at peep shows. In 1969, Linda starred in the bestiality movie Dogarama, a film she later said her husband forced her to make at gunpoint. In 1972, they released her most well-known film, Deep Throat. “Deep Throat” played multiple times per day for over a decade at the Pussycat Theater chain, and Lovelace placed her handprints and footprints on the sidewalk in front of the Hollywood Pussycat location.
She made her stage debut in a 1973 production of Pajama Tops at Philadelphia’s Locust Theatre, and she posed for Esquire and Playboy around this time. In 1977, Lovelace appeared in a stage production of My Daughter’s Rated X in Las Vegas. She left the pornography business after the birth of her children.
